Update on Ava

One word to describe Ava would be ACTIVE! This girl is non-stop, on the go and into everything. Let's just say I enjoy her naps more than she does right now--it's the only time I can get things done around here! Ava has started a Mom's Morning Out program 2 days per week now and seems to enjoy herself--at least that's what the teachers tell me. I take this time to get our grocery shopping and errands done. Ava is not too hip on being strapped into anything right now, no shopping carts, no strollers, no car seats, so shopping with her is quite the adventure. She is so happy with her freedom right now and loves to do everything by herself. If she sees you do something, she is going to try it herself. One big thing is that we are potty training her and she's doing pretty good with it. Hopefully she will be out of diapers/pull-ups soon.

Ava's health seems better. We took her for an upper-GI test and spine x-ray a month ago. She didn't have anything obstructing her GI tract so she has been diagnosed with acid reflux for now. The medicine seems to be helping a little, but she still throws up every now and then. She coughs and gags and gets the hiccups every day, so we are still researching her problems. Her lower back has an indentation visible from the outside and looks almost mis-shapen from an injury of some sort. The x-ray didn't reveal anything internal, so the doctor is not worried about it. She is receiving physical therapy for her muscle development and walking issues and therapy for her speech as well. She is really starting to talk a lot more--it's fun to watch her transforming so quickly. Here are some recent photos.

Chillin in my crazy glasses!

I found Emma's old winter hat and mommy's oven mits. I am ready for Kansas Winters!

Daddy and Ava watching Emma cheering!

Sisters!

Ava actually wanted this bow in her hair because Emma had one for the game. Of course she took it out before we even got out of the garage on the way to the game!

We are very glad to hear that Ava's health is improving and that she likes her daycare. The sisters seem to get along well. Good luck on the potty training, it will be so nice not to have to deal with diapers/pullups anymore... She is so precious...
Bisous to the 4 of you!

HURRAH!!! It was so awesome to see new pics of the girls! They already look different from when we were last there. That pic of Ava in the hat and oven mitts is too adorable...and of course the one of Emma and Ava together...GORGEOUS! Scott is looking good too. We cannot WAIT to see you all again and are counting down the days. Thanks for the update. I know it is a madhouse right now!
With love,
Paige xoxo

Hi Gene,
I was so happy to see the updates today! Both girls look great. Ava's face has filled out so much and she looks beautiful! I love the close up of her and Emma.

I'm impressed you're working on potty training. I'm not even attempting right now. Lily has sits on the potty sometimes, but hasn't had any results, so I'm not pushing it. I do look forward to having no diapers, though! I hope potty training goes quickly!

Sounds like your house was crazy for a while! I hope you enjoy it once all is done to your liking. Its always fun to have a new kitchen! :)

Keep in touch.

Hi Gene Nice to catch up with you and your kids. Looks like Ava is doing well. Hope you figure out the stomach things soon, that can be a drag. Let us know if you ever come to Edmond/OKC. We would love to see you! Audrey is great--very interested in the potty too--mainly to just sit on! Take care

Hi Gene,

Emma and Ava are quite the lovely twosome. I am sure they keep you on your toes-- although it sounds like you've had plenty of that with your home.

Good luck with the potty training--we are sort of starting to work on that with Josie. She is interested in it and has sat on the potty twice and actually peed in it-- not consecutively. I think we just got lucky.

Fondly,
Reena
