Ava's Finding Spot

We were told that Ava was abandoned when she was one day old and found in front of a police station in Shaoguan City. This was not the case as we found out once we got more paperwork here in China. She was actually found at the gate of a neighborhood called Gangyuan Residence on June 26, 2006. A policeman took her to the Qujiang Social Welfare Institute and that is where she lived until March 24, 2008. Now, she is a Thatcher and will be with us forever. She was found at the base of a structure on the left side of the neighborhood entrance. She was wrapped up in a white towel and nothing else was found with her--no note or anything. Here are some photos of the finding spot for Qu Le Bei, now Ava Thatcher.

What a sobering thought that little Ava was left in such a place. I am so glad that she is a Thatcher now! What a culture shock it has been to read your blog. I thought I knew a lot about Chinese culture, but the reality of these little girl's lives seem so sad to me. I hope and pray that many more will find loving homes!
